Firestone

Firestone is in Weld County, second only to Douglas County in growth in Colorado throughout the past few years, expanding in population by 16.8% from 2000 to 2003. Growth along the northern corridor in Colorado is fast outpacing the phenomenal growth that the State has seen in the southern regions for the past decade. Clean air, wide-open spaces, low crime rates and lower housing costs have all attributed to the rapid growth.

Firestone, a statutory Town formed in 1908 has evolved into a comprehensively planned Colorado community that currently offers diverse housing opportunities, along with extensive employment opportunities and retail goods and services. The area offers exceptional quality of life that makes it a wonderful place to live, work and play.

Firestone is conveniently located between Fort Collins and Denver, just east of Longmont, with brilliant views of the entire Rocky Mountain Range. Exciting recreational opportunities are just minutes away, including Rocky Mountain National Park, dozens of major ski resorts, camping, biking, hiking, boating and kayaking. All of the cultural and recreational activities in Denver such as the national sports teams Broncos, Avalanche, Nuggets and Rockies are within a short 20-minute drive down Interstate I-25. Residents can also enjoy the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, Denver Zoo, Denver Aquarium and the Denver Museum of Natural History, as well as outdoor concerts and world-class dining.

Firestone offers over 35 parks, 12 miles of trails and recreational facilities that have numerous programs for residents of the area. The Firestone Trail provides miles of safe, well-maintained trails that connect users to the area parks, the regional St. Vrain Legacy Trail and the Colorado Front Range Trail system.

Town residents enjoy the many events and festivals that take place each year including the Fourth of July celebration, Firestone “Focus on Real Estate”, Firestone Trail Day and many golf tournaments. The town leaders are continuing to focus on the development of the Firestone Center, which will support community arts and cultural activities.
