Frederick

Frederick is in Weld County, second only to Douglas County in growth in Colorado throughout the past few years, expanding in population by 16.8% from 2000 to 2003. Growth along the northern corridor in Colorado is fast outpacing the phenomenal growth that the State has seen in the southern regions for the past decade. Clean air, wide-open spaces, low crime rates and lower housing costs have all attributed to the rapid growth.

Frederick is a rapidly growing community located along Colorado’s magnificent Front Range. Rolling hills and spectacular mountain views welcome the residents of this friendly town, situated between the towns of Firestone and Dacono in southwestern Weld County. Located with easy access to both Boulder and Denver, residents can enjoy the quiet small town life, but take advantage of the many cultural and recreational opportunities in major metropolitan areas just a short drive away.

Frederick got its start as a mining camp and was incorporated in 1907. The immigrants who originally settled in the area to work in coalmines were from Italy, France, Greece, Turkey, the Slavic countries, and Mexico. Frederick retains that hard-working, close-knit community atmosphere in the modern housing developments that are being constructed throughout the City.
